This is a fantastic letter opener!
This is a fantastic letter opener – easily the best I’ve ever used! It is sharp and sturdy, and has a comfortable handle that gives a good solid grip. The blade is sharp and thick and doesn’t flex or bend. I use it for more than just opening letters – I use it to open boxes from Amazon. It works great!

Great openers but wish they came with COLORED handles. Black is hard to see on desk n low light. Thought I had ordered colored ones but got black. I put colored tape on the handles

Replacement for same brand that we used for years!! and surely abused, opening not only letters but also boxes, etc. We have one in kitchen and one at the front door where mail and boxed [Amazon] shipments arrive. Sharp blade opens tiny envelope corners, but also slices through packing tape; in the kitchen, also easily opens plastic bags (with malfunctioning āeasy tearā tabs), packing on paper towel rolls, etc., and has comfortable handle. Was HAPPY to reorder. For us, a must-have, and only this brand. And well worth the few dollars we spent.

Yes, it passed.
Passable quality at a decent price. This letter opener functions well and just passes the bar ergonometrically. The steel blade is as others said quite sharp , about like a cheap paring knife, so it cuts through paper well. The blade edge is roughly ground so aesthetics are not its strong point..ditto for the handle which is a bit undersized for large hands but not unacceptably so. The handle has a thumb groove section with dimples which helps with controlling work actions. The opener’s blade is press fit into the handle and since I just purchased this item I don’t know how long it will remain rigidly in place – hopefully 50 years and not 50 days, but I haven’t seen any negative reviews on this aspect so I’m optimistic. The other potential weak point is blade flexibility and the possibility of getting permanently bent. This doesn’t seem likely as the blade has decent springiness and looks like it will go the distance.
