Customers say
Customers appreciate the pad’s thick, heavy-duty construction, durable paper weight, and smooth writing surface. The stiff cardboard back makes it suitable for writing while standing, and customers like its bright yellow color. While some customers report no bleed-through issues, others mention poor perforation quality. The pad’s value for money receives mixed feedback, with some finding it well worth the price while others consider it expensive.

One less pet peeve checked off my list!
Tops legal pads are the absolute best! Thick, sturdy cardboard backing (like they all used to be in the 1970’s), paper is bright and heavy too. I really dislike droopy legal pads. I like computers, but there’s nothing like working the day using legal pads in small and large sizes, to make lists, draw, formulate contracts etc. It’s really hard to be focused and creative when I’m fighting with a limp-legal pad!The “old school” mom & pop stationary store in town had only 1 choice of heavy pads but cost $16 each! I believe it was an English import paper company. I really wanted to see & feel the pads, but finally decided to trust Amazon’s reviews and descriptions and found TOPS. Bought a pack of large & small and couldn’t be happier. Well worth the price.I used to live in a Third World Country where everything was thin, and bad quality… much like all the energy saving products we love today in the US – So, I just don’t waste it and enjoy the beauty of good quality paper!

Great paper- still same quality
I have been using these pads for years. I work in a medical office, where I still have some paper files vs. all on computer, and I won’t use anything but this paper for taking notes in patient charts. We have pre-printed forms, but for free hand notes, the thickness of this paper is the best. I’ve used other cheaper pads, you can see right through them from the back, I can write on both sides of this paper if I need to.I keep thinking maybe the paper won’t be as good in the future, but just bought another 10 pack and it is just as good as ever. Not inexpensive for paper pads, but worth it and you get what you pay for.

Good Paper – Good Pads – Very Little Bleed Through
Quality pads; 20# paper, very little bleed through with a broad, heavy fountain pen. Perforation is good and the sheets tear off cleanly. Well made.

Best legal Pads out there
I use these for work and the paper quality and the sturdy backing make it so much easier.

Good, barely worth the cost.

No clipboard necessary.
Usually, if there are nice and cheap alternatives for things, I’d say go cheap unless you really want to spend the money on an item that makes you feel good. But when it comes to these legal pads, I’d say forget the slightly cheaper ones and get these — they’re well-made, heavier, and the backing is so stiff that you don’t need a clipboard.

Long and short: Don’t Buy These Anymore!
These used to be awesome, the best. Now, every other sheet (literally) cannot be torn out because the perforation is incomplete. This has been the case for my last 3 orders or so. I don’t understand how the quality control for these can be so poor, especially given that they are a high priced item for its product segment. Either avoid until you hear of evidence that this problem has been corrected, or make sure your scissors are sharp and at hand.

Nice quality
I use these all the time. The ink does not bleed through and I especially like that there is some decent rigidity and sturdiness to the backing.

Its a good product but I ended up returning it because around the same price you can get Mead Cambridge pads which are of superior quality to this one. Giving it a 4 star as there is nothing wrong with the product itself.

Nice pads, but very expensive. Still, they are nice. Three of mine were water damaged (in the middle of the pack).
