Impressed with quality, usefulness and value.
I am impressed. This is one useful letter opener! It’s lightweight. Ergonomic to hold, ie feels good in the hand. Strong blade. Serrated edges allow you to cut tape and binding twine on packages. However, the edges are not sharp to touch so it would not cut skin unless you pressed hard or sawed at the skin so safer around kinds etc. Works nicely. I am going to buy another I like them so much. Don’t let the low cost fool you, this is a really good letter opener with package opening capacity, and it’s nice looking as well. I would have expected it to cost more had I used it first and seen it in person.

Great Letter Opener
This is a great letter opener thanks to helpful features such as a sharp, long blade, comfortable handle and anti-microbial protection. I particularly like the fact that you can use this opener to remove staples. I don’t think anyone else mentioned that in their reviews, but the blade is the perfect thickness to slide under a staple and pry it up. It’s also a nice touch that the opener is both recyclable and made from post-consumer recycled plastic. Also most letter openers are incredibly dull, this one comes with a nice sharp edge on it. It ever works well for sawing manuals in half on the spine (I do this so I can scan/OCR them) as it has an almost imperceptible serration thanks to the factory sharpening process. I would highly recommend this opener, especially when compared to the square openers with the little razor blade inserts, those tend to cut what is inside your envelope and this opener will never do that.

Seems Pretty Good!
I would forget over and over and OVER again, that I wanted to get one of these. This one appears to work pretty well and get the job done. There’s only 1 envelope I’ve had “issues” with and it’s one from the same company that I’ll get every other day. I think it’s more/less due to how they tend to seal it more so than this, because it has zero “issues” opening other envelopes.I also just put 2 and 2 together that this is the same brand of some scissors I bought last year that ended up being duds. Hoping this doesn’t prove to end up not being able to even slice through hot butter like the scissors ended up doing after a month of very, very, VERY, moderate use.

It works
Its cheap and it works as intended. The heft is comfortable, and the blade is sharp enough for its intended purpose without being a hazard while sitting in a desk drawer. The price cant be beat.

Itās not just a letter opener!! Very versatile (and very sharp).
I canāt say enough good things about the Westcott brand letter openers! I have purchased every model or designed Amazon offers. Each one has a wonderfully sharp edge and we have one in every room of the house! We use them for everything from opening a letter to breaking down boxes to cutting duct tape! These things are very versatile, but be sure you are getting the Westcott brand because there are others out there that look like Wescott, but their blades are completely dull.

Good steel blade, feels solid
When this opener arrived I was pleasantly surprised by how solid the steel felt. Usually stainless steel that doesn’t need to have a sharp edge is pretty soft, and yes lateral pressure on the tip will flex the blade, but it springs right back perfectly.Speaking of sharp edges, this thing comes with beveled sides that are not sharpened to an edge because it’s supposed to be something people can have on their desks without fear of cutting themselves. If you look at a letter opener’s work it is really more of a neat tearing open of the edge than a cut, per se. If you saw the review wishing the opener were sharper be assured that mine arrived more than sharp enough to open envelopes with ease, even if there is slight resistance to start the tear. I’m sure if you wanted to sharpen it more you could a little bit, and a little bit is probably all it would need to be able to cut skin. My opinion is that if you want a blade that slices through paper like butter I advise perusing the very nice selection of knives available. To be clear: I would not want to be on the receiving end of this letter opener’s point, but it is not a knife.I am also pleased with the solid pairing of the handle and blade. If you see the 3 indentations near the top of the handle in the picture it appears the blade is secured at those 3 points, eliminating any level of wiggle whatsoever. The plastic is very solid too so I don’t expect it to develop a wiggle. The sides of the handle are cast together very nicely without a messy seam.If you are interested in the recycled / green philosophy behind this product you may be pleased to know that one side of the handle has a white recycling logo (the three folded arrows) and on the other side the blade is prominently printed with “KleenEarthĀ®” so no matter which way it is set down one or the other shows. If that aspect is not real high on your priorities you may be pleased to know that while both of those things are prominent and noticeable, they still look traditionally classy. It isn’t a cheap product using environmental friendliness as a gimmick to sell, nor does it look like one.Bottom line I’m very happy with this letter opener. Leave me a comment if there’s any other helpful info I can give you.

It works
Bought this product because it was made from recycled materials and had anti-microbal protection. I also purchased the TecUnite 2 Pack letter opener, and the TecUnite is much sharper and much more stylish than the Wescott. The TecUnite is my favorite in looks and function.

I honestly canāt believe this doesnāt cost more. This letter opener is amazing. Itās not sharp enough to cut your finger, but it definitely slices through paper very well. Lightweight and wonderful, Iām so glad I bought one to keep in my pencil cup at school. Amazing deal, definitely recommend.
