Life-changing!!!
In our house we have something referred to as “cardboard mountain.” I am a bulk shopper and also frequently buy things online. This influx of cardboard is far more than our normal recycling bin can handle on a weekly basis so the excess cardboard began getting stacked one day in the corner next to our kitchen garbage. The mountain grew bigger and taller each week over the past year or so despite my best efforts.Recently I saw someone on Facebook post about using this shredder to break down their cardboard. I took a chance and bought one because any way to remove that heap of recyclable eyesores would be a game changer.The day it arrived I was so excited! A shredder is a silly thing to be excited about but I had hated cardboard mountain for so long. I fired it up and sure enough, it ripped through the cardboard!! It can eat through most normal boxes/Amazon/etc. with easy, including the very package it came in! Heavy duty boxes not so much, but that’s ok by me. It runs for about 15-20min at a time before needing to cool down which is plenty in normal circumstances (took quite a few goes to chew through the whole mountain) and its fairly easy to cut boxes down to the width of the opening.This shredder has given me the corner of my kitchen back and I no longer worry about guests looking at the looming stack of boxes representing my many many online purchases. I’ve tried recommending it to friends and it seems they don’t share my problem, but hopefully someone here does. It’s truly an excellent little device and for the price point, I’m happy with it regardless of how long it ends up lasting.

Great for home use for the price
I purchased this shredder in 2010 and continue to use it in 2014. The shredder still functions well, despite that I have occasionally pushed it a tad beyond its limits (there was one occasion in which I tried to jam too much paper into it at once and the motor overheated; however, when I allowed it to rest a while it continued to function as usual).It can handily shred into strips up to 8 or so pages at a time, or a few envelopes of junk mail, but as has been pointed out by others, if you are looking for more security with your shreds, you probably want to find a shredder that does more than long strips. The same is true with credit card shreds. It shreds them easily, but only does so in strips, so if you are worried that someone might obtain those strips and reconstruct the card somehow, you will need to either shred the strips again, or burn the card somewhat before you shred.The container itself is small, about the size of a small office garbage can. However, the actual shredding mechanism simply sits atop the garbage pail portion, so it is easily emptied. In the alternative, you could shred directly into a larger pail or garbage bag.Ultimately, if you are looking for an office shredder, this is probably not for you. If you are looking for a simple shredder for home use and to shred the junk mail, credit card solicitations, or other materials that may contain personal information, this shredder does a fine job for a very low price.

Fast and JAM FREE
Bought this to replace a Fellowes shredder that died. Had it working in under a minute. Immediately I noticed how much faster it is than my old shredder–at least twice as fast. Also, unlike my old shredder, the cutter assembly does not clog with bits of shredded paper. The bin is a bit on the small side, but it is easy to see how much paper is in it–and unlike my old shredder there are no “hanging chads” to fall to the floor when you lift the shredder from the bin. The cut strips are fairly large, making it unsuitable for “three letter” government agencies, military contractors or the truly paranoid, but it is great for most users.

So far, so good. This paper shredder works wonderfully. I didnāt want a large one and this one had such great reviews that I decided to order it. So glad I did. I shredded a lot of old papers that were in my file cabinet and it didnāt disappoint. Just need to empty the bucket more often because it isnāt very big. All in all, such a great value and product.

An Excellent Value
I’m very happy with this inexpensive but well-made shredder. I chose a strip-cut shredder to shred phone books, junk mail, and magazines for starting fires in my fireplace. It’s faster than I expected. It can shred groups of phone book pages as quickly as I can tear them out. I used it heavily over the winter to shred the equivalent of about a 2-foot-high stack of paper. It’s still running perfectly. The motor has thermal protection: if it overheats, it stops running until it cools down. Being run continuously, it can fill its basket twice before overheating and stopping.I have a few minor criticisms: It often doesn’t fully eject the paper, so you have to pull the last strips out by hand before emptying the basket. There’s a single sensor in the middle of the slot, so when shredding narrow items, sometimes it stops and you have to press the manual run button. It would be nicer if the basket were clear so you could see how full it is. The slot is only 8.75 inches wide, so some larger mailings have to be folded to be shred. I wish it were just an inch wider.

Always annoys me when you buy something in the uk that arrives with a foreign plug (US). I ordered an adapter and plugged it in to use it for the first time. It wry nearly caught fire on first use. Smoke coming out of the motor and an acrid plastic burning smell. Horrendous. Have returned it.

Important Note: This shredder is a USA version and only operates with 120V electricity. If you are in a country with 220/240V, you will need a converter to bring the voltage down to 120V.Some customers have given this product one-star reviews because it didn’t work or smoked when they plugged it into a 220V/240V outlet. This is understandable, as the shredder is not designed for that voltage!I use a 500W converter with this shredder, but a smaller one should also be sufficient (refer to the shredder’s label: 120V and 1.2A – you can do the math ;-)What I like about the shredder:- Works well and shreds reasonably fast.- Can handle 8 pages at a time (as advertised).- Stops automatically when the paper bin is full.- Has an overheating warning light, but it hasn’t overheated yet- Compact paper bin, suitable for a home office.- If you want to use a larger bin you can pull out a handle on the right side for additional 10cm.- Sturdy build for the price.- Clear, simple lubrication instructions.

Muy buen producto y llegĆ³ a tiempo. No tengo queja y para lo que dicen que ojalĆ” y el bote fuera mĆ”s grande entonces no serĆa apto para oficina y costarĆa mĆ”s. Es cĆ³modo para mover y funciona muy bien. Se puede adecuar a otro botes mĆ”s grandes, trae como un extensor.

This paper shredder is of excellent quality,style and performance. It was packaged great,arrived without any damage and works excellent. It isn’t thin plastic but it is durable and so is the basket. Not even worth 1 star. Doesn’t come with AU power plug. Once time running there is black smoke with terrible smell coming out. I need a full refund.
