Customers say
Customers find this air dry clay to be of good quality, easy to work with, and appreciate its value for money. The clay dries well, though some customers note it doesn’t dry properly, and has a soft texture. However, the color receives mixed feedback, with customers noting it has a gray tone rather than being white. Moreover, the clay’s durability is a concern, as customers report it cracks and crumbles easily. Customers find it fun for kids to work with.

Excellent without kiln for small projects
This clay is quite literally amazing. I was able to get 25 lbs of air dry clay for less than half the cost of some other brands. Here’s what to expect: The clay does air dry relatively quickly (it varies depending on the thickness of the piece, but a piece the size and shape of a golf ball would take about 10 minutes to start drying on the outside and maybe an hour to fully dry out), so make sure you keep it moist and air-tight when storing (I usually keep a spray bottle on hand when I’m modelling to re-moisten the clay); though it is air drying, it is best suited for use with a kiln if you intend on putting your finished product through any use. Once dry, if it hasn’t been kiln fired, it will be pretty brittle and easy for thinner bits to break off. I use the clay to make small figurines and jewelry pieces without a kiln and I haven’t hand any bad experiences, so as long as your product has a nice, solid base without a lot of thin bits hanging off you should be fine without a kiln. If you do want to add a little strength but don’t have a kiln, I suggest varnishing with a coat or two of polyurethane or similar. This will help ensure the piece stays intact and whatever colors your paint on or mix in will not get rubbed or flaked off.Update: 7/12/16Its been about 5 months since I last used this clay and I’ve kept it stored in a moist plastic bag tied off with a twist-tie and put into a lockable box. I check it a few days ago and it is still incredibly moist and holding its texture just fine. This clay is definitely the real deal and will keep for a very long time as long as it remains moist.

Lots of fun!!
This was my first time using clay since middle school and I think this specific clay is great for beginners. I havenāt had any cracks at all but I donāt use any water when working with it so Iām not sure if thatās why I donāt get the cracks others complained about. It is somewhat brittle once dry but I think thatās the same with all air dry clay.

Great Clay!
What a great value! This clay come good and moist. It air dries very well too! I started out using crayola brand (which is now garbage to me btw) it was always too dry and difficult to work with. This clay is AWESOME! I love it and it costs a lot less too.

A LOT of good clay
This is my first time using anything but sculpey. This stuff is really awesome. There was enough to make this life size bust plus a lot of extra left over. If you keep it covered in the plastic in came in, it should stay wet through the night or however long you happen to leave it. I do not plan on letting it air dry so I won’t comment on that but I will say that the little bit I left out over night was extremely brittle and turned to dust when I pinched it between my fingers. I wouldn’t recommend letting it air dry. The package shipped earlier than estimated by almost a week. It is very heavy clay so I suggest making a support system with pipe and a wood base to form the clay around. A quick tip: taking water on your fingers is a great way the smooth the clay down. Overall, this stuff is awesome for an amazing price.Update: I’ve actually decided to let it air dry since it isn’t my best work and it cracked quite a bit. Nothing a little patching up couldn’t fix and now it is good as new. It dried very solid and even. I did paint over the wet clay with velvet under glaze before leaving it to dry and that seemed to help alot. I would just say that this is really good and cheap to mess around with.

Kids and grandkids love this stuff
Initially, I bought one of these two years ago Christmas for my daughter who is very artistic and wanted to sculpt things. Of course like kids do theyāre still about half of it sitting in the bag in her room unused but she assures me sheās going to use it again⦠Iām not so sureI just bought the second one for my granddaughter who is nine years old and like her dad she is also extremely artistic and we thought letās give us a try. From listening to my daughter speak about it itās really good stuff and 25 pounds is a lot of clay . The price is reasonable and as a gift itāll keep kids busy for quite a while. Will 100% recommend it and by the way the two year-old half used is still soft to the touch and Iām sure is malleable if I was to grab some out and try to make something out of it, so it does last as long as you keep it sealed up!

Be smart about drying the clay!
Loved this product!Just a couple pointers:ALL air dry clay is prone to cracking. The way it dries, the outside normally dries faster than the inside, which causes shrinkage and cracking.I left this little project out for about an hour or two after finishing sculpting it, then I put it in the COLD oven, turned the oven to 225 degrees, set a timer for 17 minutes, then turned off the oven when the alarm went off. Then, I left it in the oven and DID NOT open the oven, until it was completely cool. In this case, I left it overnight and pulled it out in the morning. It was perfect. No cracks, and ready to paint.Best of luck everyone!!

This is NOT “air-dry” clay, it is a white low-fire.
This is NOT “air-dry” clay. I’m only giving such a low rating because it’s represented as such. This is low-fire white clay. If you intend to recycle it (for example, as an aid for teaching) then it may work. It’s fairly reasonably priced, & was delivered promptly. However, I definitely take issue with it being listed as “air-dry.” Every clay dries in the air as a step in the process before firing. But a true air-dry clay should hold its shape & have at least a modicum of durability without kiln firing, & will not disintegrate if wetted after it’s dried. Shellac will not make this clay any more durable. You will need a kiln in order to use this clay for anything other than puttering around, before recycling it back into a wet product. As a low-fire clay, the quality is mostly ok.

Perfect for air dry pottery items made at a play therapy office. Very easy for kids to use

I had to cut off a thin slice of the each side of the clay due to mold. The clay was still nice to work with, however, when it dried, it broke very easily and fell apart. Would recommend buying better quality clay.

I was happy to get the clay earlier then expected but I was not happy to find out that it’s moldy I’m a very allergic to mold I had to use my emergency inhaler and my respirator for 5 minutes just so I could breathe again. Please stop bacteria and warm moist air from getting into the packaging to avoid further mold before shipping
