Customers say
Customers report significant issues with the spray paint’s effectiveness, noting that it sprays in clumps and doesn’t cover well, requiring multiple coats. Moreover, the functionality is problematic with non-working nozzles, and durability is poor as the cap pops off frequently. The product receives mixed feedback about its color accuracy, with some finding it pure while others say it’s inaccurate. Additionally, customers find the product not worth the time or money.

Rust-Oleum Outdoor Fabric Paint – Cans spit paint, dripping, clogging….horrible!!!
I am an experienced painter and attempted to paint with 3 coats leaving my Porch cushions looking like a tie dye job!!! Paint coming out is clumps, clogging, dripping paint. Attempted to return due to deflective items and Amazon has a no return policy….I have these full and empty cans ready to ship out!! BUT a message came up “can only deal with Product Manufacturer”??? They are not responding when I call….DO NO WASTE YOUR MONEY

Love this product!
The color was exactly what I wanted. Dries quickly, is durable in both sun and rain. Works great to bring new life to old faded cushions. Very easy to use. The first coat soaks in, just use several light layers for a great outcome!

Just buy new fabric….
Only buy if you’re doing a small project. I thought that painting my sun faded cushions would be a quick cheap way to make them look new again. Definitely not quick, nor cheap and they look better… but wouldn’t say like new. I’m currently on can number 8 and can still see a lot of the beige through the gray. The color is actually more of a greige than gray but I’m OK with that. This is a very time consuming project although I’m super impatient and borderline ADHD soooo… Anyway, I tried taking the fabric off one of the cushions to make it easier to paint and to use less paint but when I removed the stuffing it was just fluffed together in a square shape inside the fabric and it came out in hunks of fluff. Did not go back in as nicely and now the cushion is lumpy. I feel that leaving the fabric on the cushions equals using more paint bc it’s soaking through but not sure if that’s true or not so don’t quote me on that. I also found that even when I’m spraying slowly I still had uneven streaking. My solution was to spray and then roll over it with a small paint roller to even the steaks out and cover more area with the paint that had been sprayed. This project has stretched out to 2 weekends now partly bc I don’t want to finish it bc it didn’t turn out as planned and bc it takes so much time to paint each cushion. I am going to use them this season and then just buy new cushions next year. I tried to return the paint after I used half a can and saw how it went, but you can’t return paint so I was stuck with them. So my advice, is just buy new fabric.

Stops up after 30 seconds
I ordered 3 of these for a project. 2 stopped spraying within the first 30 seconds so I didn’t try the third in hopes I could return it. NOPE! They do not accept returns. Wish I would have known what abad product was BEFORE I totally ruined my fabric on a chaise lounge. EXPENSIVE MISTAKE. I know have to have it recovered because there is 30 seconds worth of spray paint on it times 2.

A Fabric Paint That Works!
Durable and flexible. Only problem was with coverage; figure using twice as much as you would think to get complete coloring over entire swath of fabric.

I donāt recommend wasting your time or money
The paint itself is great. It had a nice color, it covers well, it does not end up still like paint. Butā¦You will prep your surfaces. Clean it with soap and water, maybe use a degreaser or deeper cleanser to remove tougher areas, let it dry for days. You will put down cardboard, set up a pedestal to prop up the cushion for even coverage. You will read the can, follow instructions. You will shake that can for 5 minutes!!The first round of spray will come out nicely. I call this the ācrack shotā because you will LOVE it. It goes in beautifully. The color is pure. And it just magically works.Until it doesnāt. There will be a sputter, the paint spray will choke, you may get a chug of paint that is more like silly string than paint. The sputter and the chug will not be smooth or even or light. Use a paint brush and distribute it or it will not be nice. This isnāt the issue though. The can clogs. You will unclog with water or isopropyl alcohol or vodkaā¦whatever. You will spray again ā¦magic it worksā¦and you will feel like youāve won. Then it clogs again 22 seconds later.Rinse. Repeat. Drink vodka. For a small number of cushions this may be fine. I had 37 plus 8 more in a different color. This was horrible. You must shake A LOT. The paint is thicker than most spray paintā¦but with the same nozzle. Shake often. Declog. Save caps and keep them soaking. Have a toothpick or needle for the nozzle hole. And be patient.I experienced my issue on the 3rd can. I swapped nozzles for a while and used another 5. The next set of can was just a nightmareAlso, I found this later for $4.97 at the Home Depot clearance isle. Itās NOT worth much more
